Verification and Calibration Services

Our primary force calibration system is traceable to the international mass standard by comparisons (calibration) of our mass standards to the national mass standards by the “Institute for National Measurement Standards” (INMS), National Research Council, Ottawa, Canada.

Our working mass standards are calibrated to our reference standards through comparisons using mass comparators. These working standards become our primary force standards when corrected for local gravity and air buoyancy. Local gravity has been measured and certified at our calibration laboratory.

Force Gauge Calibration with Weights.

Higher calibration forces are obtained with our Secondary force standards and calibration lever systems. The magnification ratio of the levers are calibrated by comparison between our primary force standards and our secondary force standards (load cells) which are calibrated by the NIST and NRC Primary force standards to 500,000 lb. force.

Our FORCE CALIBRATION SYSTEM maintains appropriate reference standards, working standards, check standards and calibration processes. The uncertainty of these calibration systems have been quantified. Assessment and monitoring is an ongoing activity with results fully documented.
